With the summer theme we will be focusing on independence, communication, mobility (transferring, walking, jumping, climbing stairs etc.) dexterity, co-ordination and self-care.
The Richmond Conductive Education project with the help of dedicated parents and supportive individuals is opening the doors to pupils on Monday 27th August 2012 for their first Summer Course.
As a first step the Richmond Conductive Education project is offering a 5 day Summer Course at the Norman Jackson Family Centre, 50 Windmill Road, Hampton Hill, TW12 1QU.
The project is generously supported by Parker Car Service http://www.parkercarservice.co.uk/ and without their support this first introductory summer course wouldn’t be available to local children.
Initial consultations will take place on Thursday 23rd August from 9.00 AM till 3.00PM. Parents will be given individual appointments.

Conductive education is a specialised rehabilitation system, which was created and developed, by Dr András Pető a physician and pedagogue in the mid 1940’s in Budapest, Hungary.
By regular attendance conductive education can help with:
Bradykinesia (slowness of movement)
Dyskinesia (side effect of medication)
Lack of facial expressions
The Pető System:

Improves mobility, co-ordination, dexterity and fine manipulation
Improves breathing, speech and communication skills.
